The Difference in Chile and Haiti

The difference between Chile’s higher magnitude and less deaths earthquake, and Haiti’s with the lower magnitude and greater deaths, is in the before.  The city that the world invested in and that had infrastructure was the one where the casualty’s weren’t as great.  We have to invest BEFORE the problem comes. 

The  problem in Haiti wasn’t the earthquake as we can see from Chile.  Where there was an investment the devastation was not as bad.
