AffairsAffairs

Our culture promotes infidelity.  Movies show us people (stars) we idolize in compromising positions,  Reality TV lets us look into other people’s lives, and magazines allow us to view both at a glance.  The effect is this: our infatuation with other people eventually leads to a desire for an inappropriate sexual relationship.

When we compare ourselves to other people, our life to other’s lives, it is going to lead us finding the wrong attraction and coveting another’s life -- something that is not ours. We are shocked when affairs happen to someone famous or a person we know but in truth our whole culture is geared towards this inevitablity. Desperate Housewives, the Real Housewives of Atlanta, etc., we are so much closer to having other peoples energies involved with our energy than ever before.

Our culture is entirely external based.  When we look outside our lives we are lead to other people.  And this infatuation with other people eventually does lead to being with other people.
